About Blogs ::.

It’s interesting how we all need to vent one time or another. Be it knowledgeable or nonsense. Some of us do it privately while others have no problem letting the world listen on to what they have to say. For me the blogs and the podcasts of the world are doing just that, although I do wish one day all of us use it in a positive way here is a collection of links of the folks who do just that.

The modern blog evolved from the online diary, where people would keep a running account of their personal lives. The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger on 17 December 1997. The short form, "blog," was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word weblog into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog Peterme.com in April or May of 1999. This was quickly taken up as both a noun and verb ("to blog," meaning "to edit one's weblog or to post to one's weblog").

After a slow start, blogging swiftly gained in attractiveness. Blogs usage spread during 1999 and the years following, being further popularized by the near-simultaneous arrival of the first hosted blogs tools. Blogging fused the personal web page with tools to make linking to other pages easier — particularly permalinks, blog rolls and Trackbacks. This, jointly with weblog search engines enabled bloggers to track the threads that linked them to others with parallel interests.
