Techniques & Processes

This technique being fairly simply, requires that the sensitizing mixture be hand-coated onto the support material, dried a negative or object placed on it exposed in sunlight (UV light source). The print is then washed in water to develop the image and complete the process. Amusingly this was invented by Sir John Herschel to photocopy his notes which he did by simply placing his notes on a sensitized paper thus exposing the hand written material by sunlight. The images shown here were printed on Schollershammer 9HF 220G (fine grain) German watercolor paper.
